Merry Christmas to all! As you celebrate with your family and friends, please take a moment to reflect on those who are less fortunate, and how you might help in the upcoming year.
Here's an article from the Osceola News Gazette on an exciting corporate volunteer project that will be occurring in April. HOME will be a partial beneficiary of Roadhouse's efforts, along with the Council on Aging, the Children's Home, Habitat for Humanity, and Community Vision.
In other exciting volunteer news, HOME will once again host large scale volunteer projects on our campus in 2008. In January, we will have TWO 500-person groups coming from large corporations. If you would like to volunteer to be a project leader, please email us.
Last but certainly not least, we are entering our final few weeks before families can move in! In fact, we may have power before the year is out! Yeah! We should have an announcement about an open house date pretty soon. Also, we still have partial and full family sponsorships available- a family sponsorship for 1 year costs $10,000 and allows us to leverage an additional $10,000 worth of in-kind services. Family sponsors will receive special recognition at the open house, and a plaque honoring their contribution will be placed outside the apartment they support.
Again, Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of you!
