Quick Update

So, we have an exciting development at the HOME campus! The electricity is on! We are literally weeks away from moving in. It would be a vast understatement to say that we're excited. In preparation for move-in, we've got not one, but TWO corporate volunteer projects over the next two weeks- one on the 17th and one on the 23rd. They will be doing lots of landscaping and a final clean. If you are interested in being a project leader (no prior experience necessary), please give us a buzz or shoot us an email. It really is a good time.

Be on the lookout for an open house date... It will probably be on a Friday in late February, just to give us time to get settled in and organized. Stay tuned, as always!

Lastly, remember how I mentioned that we really need to work on hunger in Osceola County? Well, here's your chance. I started doing this myself, and my mom suggested that if I threw it out to the community, it just might catch on!

Here's the idea: every time I go to the grocery store, I buy one shelf stable "BOGO" deal (that would mean buy one get one) and donate it to HOME's hunger fighting efforts. This way, you can help feed families without even having to spend an extra dime! We're actually working on some signage that we can distribute for people to put on boxes in their homes, schools, churches, etc. In the meantime, please feel free to decorate your own BOGO (that's buy one GIVE one, of course!) boxes and call us to schedule pick up/drop off when they're full. Prove my mom right and help this idea take off!!!

Oh, and just for a few ideas, BOGO deals at our local grocery establishment this week (ends Wednesday- they start new promotions every Thursday) include mac 'n cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, canned veggies, cereals, and there's $1 peanut butter, which isn't a BOGO, but it is a great deal!
